AC installation helps you control the climate inside your home or business. In Las Vegas, we have pneumonia-inducing winters and summers that are only getting hotter. So central air is the unsung hero of hospitality. As the world slid back into optional work from office, employees spoke up about how they were only willing to go in for the air conditioning.
In homes, too, guests may not pay so much attention to the air conditioning quality, but if you were to turn them off on a sweltering July day, that might raise a few eyebrows. Infinity Air LLC. is a Las Vegas air conditioning contractor, and we can attest that clients with well-functioning thermostats are happy clients.
So when your HVAC system starts faltering, home or business owners are understandably stressed. That’s why it’s important to keep up to date with maintenance. Check out our blog post about HVAC replacement. We can assure you that while it may be necessary at a certain point if units are older, with newer installations, it’s avoidable.
So long as you work out an HVAC contractor-approved upkeep schedule and look out for the following problems, your cooling services should be just fine.
Refrigerant Leaks
Refrigerant is one of the fluids that your AC unit needs to cool effectively. If there’s a leak, the problem is that the unit is running low, but you can’t fix the problem by topping it up. The leak will likely have to be repaired by a technician before anything is added.
It’s not a good idea to do this yourself, as working on HVACs can be dangerous without the proper training.
Irregular Maintenance
In the world of HVAC repair, there’s something called preventive maintenance. Whether your installation may run all the time or only a few hours a day, there are plenty of machinery-related problems that could snowball. By working closely with professional HVAC services, you can avoid these.
Broken Sensor
Your system isn’t designed just to cool or heat. It’s designed to maintain the temperature you set on your thermostat. Therefore, when the thermostat sensor picks up that the air conditioning has lowered the temperature enough, it’ll stop cooling. While it remains on, the compressor will shut off until the temperature rises above where you set it.
If the sensor isn’t working, the air conditioning may completely stop cooling, thinking that the target temperature has been achieved, or it won’t stop cooling. The latter may not sound so bad, but it means that the compressor will continue to run, as opposed to shutting off every twenty minutes or so. This isn’t how units are meant to function and could accelerate the system’s deterioration.
