First make sure that the thermostat is set lower than the room temperature if in cooling mode, if in heating mode ensure the set temperature is higher than the room temperature. Ensure the thermostat is set to either Cool or Heat. If the thermostat is battery powered, install new batteries. Check for control by moving the fan switch from “auto” to “on”. If the blower runs, there is power. If nothing happens, a control is out or is disconnected. If you are familiar with the circuit breaker, check to see if breaker has tripped. A tripped breaker will be in the center location. Correct the problem one time only. If it repeats, call Infinity Air LLC for Service (702-489-6452) If the copper line is frozen or iced over, there could be an air flow problem, such as clogged filter or failed indoor blower. Low refrigerant charge will also cause the system to freeze. Shut the system off and let it thaw out completely. If it freezes up again, call Infinity Air LLC for Service (702-489-6452)
January 2012, our region air conditioning systems installed must be 14 SEER. SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating. It is the percentage of cooling in BTUs, divided by the amount of energy in watts, which is necessary to produce an amount of cooling. A 10 SEER system air conditioner requires 30 percent more watts than a 14 SEER of the same output. This does not include energy needed to deliver the cooling to each room, so blower use is a stable and roughly 3 percent.
Las Vegas valley homes all have central air conditioning that need to cool and dehumidify using a condenser, evaporator coil, and refrigerant piping. The means of stirring the air might differ but is the same for all split systems. This refers to the separation of the condenser and the evaporator. This is distinction to a window or wall air conditioners that are packaged together. The refrigerant is compressed and run through a sequence of tubes to transfer heat from inside a space to outside, then piped to an evaporator coil as a warm liquid. Extension of the liquid causes it to cool, and as the air passes over the coil, heat is absorbed into the refrigerant. The cool liquid becomes a gas as it gathers heat from the air, and is drawn back to the compressor to start the process over again. As the air passes over the evaporator coil and cools, humidity in the air condenses and drains off. This is a quick break down of the complexity of a unit and replacement is key after so many years as well as service. call Infinity Air LLC for Service (702-489-6452)
